The ease of use of MDF allows more manufacturers to discover its advantages. I don't know if you want to know the production process of thin MDF. When you read this article, you will find that the production of thin MDF is not as complicated as you think. Similarly, thick MDF is not that complicated.

Production of thin MDF steps

Step 1 - Start and prepare the surface

Use a primer and use a high solids acrylic primer. Any other primer has the risk of immersing in the thin MDF and may cause some swelling. Once you have the thin MDF ready, it will take some time to clear any fibers that will remain. You can do this with a fine sandpaper or a regular house holding a scrubbing pad. If your thin MDF needs to be sanded before starting, use 200 sandpaper and check the molding.

Step 2 - Draw a surface using a brush

Apply two coats of paint to achieve the perfect result. Use the durability of semi-gloss or high-gloss enamel paint instead of gloss. You can paint your mold before installation so you can save a lot of time. If you are using a 3.5-inch brush, look for a brush with a 2.5-inch head so that your brush will not be so rough. The grainy texture depends on the quality of the paint, the brush and the technique used. Make straight long strokes in one direction.

Step 3 - Polishing between coatings

Gently dry the mold you just drew with fine sandpaper and sandpaper. After it is completely dry, you can sand it well. This will give the paint a very professional look.

Step 4 - Apply a second coat

Apply a second layer before or after application. It's even easier to apply completely before completing your molding, then cover up the scratches and holes that have been nailed in the ward. Or you can install the molding and then finish it, this is a matter of preference and convenience.

Step 5 - Finish

When filling the same cavities as the paint, fill the holes that appear during the thin MDF molding process, use the same fill fill angle. Then grind a little more and apply if necessary. You can add luster with a polyurethane varnish, which is optional again, which will make the molding more waterproof. Always remember that the mold will be subjected to a lot of impact, so pay attention to durability.

Thin MDF crown model

When you want to make a batch of fixed-size thin MDF more conveniently and quickly, you might be able to take a more accelerated approach. You can first model the thin MDF. Thin MDF crown models allow you to save a lot of money on your production projects.

1. Measuring area. The first thing you need to do is determine how big the thin MDF you will need. Use measurement tools to cover the production space, take the dimensions and add them together. Sometimes you should also consider buying extra sizes so that when you need to make changes, you will have enough room to cut.

2. Dash. Once you've made the crown of the thin MDF, you can mark the cut in the appropriate position. Use a goniometer to determine the angle of each cut. Then use your tape measure to measure the size that suits you. Make a mark on the back of the mold where you need to make a cut and write the angle you need to cut.

3. Cutting. After you mark the place you need to cut, it's time to cut it. Using a chainsaw in this job will be the best. Thin MDF can be very fragile, and you'd better make sure you have a good cutting plan. Otherwise, you might cut out the failed model. Fix the model under the saw and cut it quickly and accurately at an appropriate angle.

4. Fraying. Once you have made the cut of the thin MDF model, you need to rub the edges. Gently rub the edges with sandpaper. This will help you get a smooth surface so that the two edges can intersect perfectly. Otherwise, when you install it, it may not fit together.

You can cover the edges with some putty and apply paint or stains on it to make it look like a finished product. After the crown molding is completed, you can start making thin MDF in large quantities, and you will find that the efficiency is significantly improved.
