Film faced plywood is an exterior plywood used in building and construction projects.  It has a special film coating on its surface made from phenol or melamine on either or both sides which gives the plywood a higher resistance to moisture, abrasion, chemical degradation and fungal attack compared to ordinary plywood.There are also many types of film faced plywood, which can be explained from the following aspects.

1LG high gloss film

The surface effect is crystal clear, colorful, and does not change color for a long time. Soft touch, colorful surface color, environmental protection, moisture proof, anti-corrosion, easy to clean, light weight, good fire resistance. The best laminating products are currently available at high prices and have a life span of 20-30 years.

3 domestic film

The film thickness is generally between 0.1 and 0.3 mm. The thickness of the substrate of the well-known brand is generally between 0.1 and 0.2 mm.

The thicker visual effect of the board is more wide, but it is not as thick as possible. It is enough for 0.6mm or more. The thickness of the coated board of the well-known brand is about 0.7mm. The easiest way to determine the thickness is to pick it up and see if the board is tough. Some merchants say that their boards are thick, but they tremble when they are shaken; some boards have thicknesses, but a large percentage is the thickness of the covered film. The thickness of the film can be observed from the kerf of the gusset. However, the exact thickness must be measured with a caliper, and the visual or hand error is large.

Application:

According to the application, the film faced plywood can be mainly used for home decoration and construction.The main specifications of the home decoration are 300 mm × 300 mm, 300 mm × 600 mm, etc.Because of its increased stability and resistance to moisture, ultraviolet radiation and corrosive chemicals, film-faced plywood is ideal for outdoor applications such as the external surfaces of new buildings.  The extra film layer and acrylic varnished edges of this type of plywood make it more durable and less able to distort when used outdoors in harsh weather and adverse conditions. Buildings in direct sunlight are less prone to wear and tear if they are made from film-faced plywood, at least as part of the overall structure.
The plywood is useful for forming level molding boards and girder molding boards, which need to be resistant to strong forces, large amounts of fast-flowing water and yet still maintain their structural integrity and shape.
